A really neat idea. I could see this really going somewhere. Have you looked at the guy, I believe Empire, here who builds the amazing wood spaceports and buildings? I am wondering if you had some kind of wood foundation or walls, and these were added on for details.

I have been waiting for someone to do this. Very cool and great designs that can work in multiple settings.
I will be a customer for sure!

This is awesome and I'm glad someone is thinking like this.
A while ago I contacted this company Products - Miniature Scenery about possible 1:18th scale laser-cut parts production; scenery walls, small vehicles and the like but with no luck. I even tried messing around with a CAD program myself but just couldn't wrap my head around the process. If these items take off it could really add to out hobby, keep it up!

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback and for checking in.
Still working on the designs, but I am between jobs so printing prototypes is not really in the budget at the minute. The only ones I'm happy with fully are the basic frame walls and am just about done with the door walls. These would be in kit format, being that they are a bunch of pieces that would need to then be glued together to form each wall section. The solid walls need to be redone at the right size to match the frame and door walls, presently they're a little taller than the others and I need to address that. Each section can be joined using paper clips, the types with the handles. If anyone feels they must have these and have access 3D printer I'd be happy to share the files for the frame wall. I could sell the files for the doors for a small fee once they're done, thinking about $5 or so for them, it'll go towards paying for some of my own printing. I will say that there are affordable 3D printing services out there that could print them off once you have the files and want a little project for yourselves. I was able to get each section printed for $4 - $9, but price will depend on the quality of the print and the rates of the vendor. I am looking into other products as well, one of them is a super wall that will be the equivalent to 4 of the standard walls put together for a much bigger door. Hopefully I'll get the designs done for that over the coming weeks. |

Great job, and looking forward to you getting back on your feet and being able to spend some more time. These are right in line with the Mechanical Chain Bases from Japan, and I think there's a real niche for them in the collector market!
