Awesome, is that real wire around the engine? Did you build that or find it that way?

Are those pot scrubbers on the back? I'm guessing no but they look like that.

It is all Plastruct styrene square rod to construct the mesh over the frame which is round rod. I built it. I am guessing you mean the directional vanes. Those are actually laminated foamcore. I stripped foamcore of the paper coating then shaped it and then laminated with Kleenex tissue and watered down Elmer's glue. |

Hey it had been so long since any kind of an update on this from you that I was afraid you might have fallen off the edge of the earth.
WOW, that is definitely model quality. It is looking amazing. Are the seats foam core and kleenex too? If yes how sturdy is it. That is a very interesting technique.

The seats are DOW insulative sheathing, the pink foam you can buy at Home Depot, used to be blue years ago. They sell it in small square sheets for five bucks. I plan to laminate these in Kleenex as well, but the jury is still out on that process... Oh yeah almost forgot: On sturdiness, enough for a static display model. I only have one layer on the vanes, if I do the seats it will be several layers and should be sturdier. Thanks! Last edited by freakintiger; 06-09-2015 at 12:07 AM.. |

What about spraying them with that As seen on TV spray seal stuff. It dries to a plastic like finish. It would both sturdy them up and make the outer finish more durable.
You know the stuff that they put a screen door in the bottom of the boat and then spray it with the seal and if still floats.
