Test fitting the canopy. The kit I bought doesn't come with a cockpit so I am making a very simple one for display. Quick test fit. |

Really cool! It looks like a stubby F-86 Sabre. Maybe that is where they got the design from.

That is wicked sweet ! its really cool that someone out there has enough passion to create something like this for resale & for the hobby itself. seems like this would be the next step in model making 1/18 scale made of plastics and or resins . please keep us posted ! Can you tell me anything about the ME-262 ? did you paint it ? is it made from another manufacture ? THANKS !
actually I'm pretty sure its the other way around , the allies ( the U.S.A.) stole/copied plans from the FW TA-183 to create the F-86. not sure how the Russians got the design for the Mig-15, but it wasn't there own , that much is certain.

The Russians captured the Focke-Wulf plans for the TA-183 at the end of the war, many believe it was a strong influence on the MIG-15. Kurt Tank the inventor fled to Argentina at the end of the war and built a very similar plane for the Argentinians.
Look at this comparison between the 1/18 Huckebein and the Mig-15 and draw your own conclusions... Last edited by YT74; 12-23-2014 at 04:51 PM.. |
