Wow, looks great!
I'm pretty sure you can get clear acrylic that you can cut to size... maybe at a good hobby/model shop? I might consider putting an actual roof on that one.

If you're happy with your first cut piece, just use the hydrogen peroxide bath technique to whiten it up.

The custom ttbp gods have provided. Snagged a clear plastic drawer from a fridge off the side of the road. Last night I tossed it through the bandsaw to see if it would cut without breaking. I now have some flat clear panels. Here's where we are heading... The original windscreen goes on the new lower area. The upper control room becomes a room with clear panels. It also gains a roof that will extend over and replace the original helipad. Now we can land the dragonfly. No pics as clear panels don't photo well.

I thought the same thing but I recall those window sections fetching at least 25 bucks or more on eBay.

Damn! I never thought about this! I even recently sold my Battle Platform because I felt the ME Joes were too big for it. I could've just bought extra parts to expand it. Damn!!! I hate not having foresight!!!

Yeah, really like what people have been doing with the Battle Platform. When it first came out I felt kind of, "Meh." about it but lately customizers have been beefing it up. I think there was another 'Tanker who bashed two together to make a much more formidable set.
I know it was mentioned before but, yeah, ladders would do a treat on that allowing access from the water to the sub deck and from that to the main deck. If you wanted to add stuff maybe check out some of the parts from the Flagg set? Stuff like the radar dish array and boom crane would look nice on it. Some of the Mobile Command Center parts could add a bit more "Oomph!" to it too. Just some ideas (since you asked.)

Got some pieces cut. Clear windows and plastic pvc angle's glued up for the corners. I'm quite tickled with this. An mdf top spanning over the old helipad is in the works. Thanks for all the ideas. Keep em comin. Sbartek, grab another. They really are not that big. And they display figs nicely. r3v, that mashed double platform is mighty. And parts from the Flag would be awesome. I'm trying to go simple. Keep it to its roots, but more functional with my joeverse. Docking for the whale, devilfish, Imaginext sub, resupply from both the dragonfly and hawk, and diving operations. |

r3v was right. This needed a larger crane to manage the Imaginext sub and devilfish. Fabbed one up using my favorite material... vinyl fence scraps. Also, cut the helipad to size. It will sit on the clear control room and a support post. Access will come from a ladder, which I'm struggling to create. My first attempt did not work as planned. All feedback and ideas are encouraged. Thanks, |
