I happened upon a few pieces of a beat up, broken down 1983 GI Joe Headquarters Command Center at the Flea Market last weekend for almost nothing, so I picked it up thinking there would be something I could salvage out of it.
I have always had the idea that the stockade section should be enclosed so there can be NO escape for the criminals housed there. So, taking some black spray paint that I had, I covered the pieces. Then painted the bars silver and used some thin 30mm sheet styrene to top it off. I plan on using plastic canvas for a metal looking floor grid and making walls for the piece, too. Any comments or ideas would be appreciated! SORRY FOR THE BLURRY PHONE PICS.

Nice find. I never have any luck with tag sales or flea markets.

Me neither! But there is a guy that occasionally has vintage era Joe vehicles and parts at my local flea market. I've been pretty lucky lately!

Very nice!!! The stockade was what I bought was one of the coolest features about the '83 headquarters (even though I never had one). You made it even better. However, the Baroness always seems to escape!

Thanks. I'm still thinking about how to improve it, but the 30mm plasticard is the perfect thickness for the roof.

LOL, yeah.
I did always like that issue of GI Joe (early 20's) where Duke and Roadblock built the Headquarters Command Center in the field to house Cobra Commander and then Storm Shadow came and scooped him up with a CLAW.
