I decided to redo the front and the back and get it correct as possible. When I started I only had a few pics and now that the series has taken off and I get to see different angles, I want it to look as close as possible. Hope you enjoy it. I finally found the PHANTOM SHUTTLE, my GHOST is probably a bit off scale but Im cool with that. I know its not perfect and its definitely off in some places but I like scratchbuilding and it makes me appreciate the designs that much more. I still want to add detail to the cockpit and bubble turret as well as the two side docking arms. They are empty containers with lids so the lids are removeable. I cant access inside and I still have to make the bulky landing parts that are underneath. My girls are going for a sleepover so once they are out of the way, Im going to start adding some lines and color markings to add to the SW goodness. The figures are only 5 POA so they will be sitting or standing. 2 for $10 sounds like a fair enough deal, not the greatest figures but it is a cartoon. The dorsal section towards the rear needs to be done and still have to cut triangular sensor/reflector panels for underneath. The engines were moved closer together but I still have to work on the bottom two. The underside still needs that thick landing gear housing and an opening hatch to the front. Each of the side containers does open and still need to make interior and floors. Turret needs to be done and cut out of the lid. Might have to do something a bit different. Screw the landing gear--just going to make it part of the ships bulk under side, was thinking of putting a magnetic strip in between to pick up cargo container, thought that would be cool. One of the other reasons I like foamboard--draw on details. |

Im thinking of redoing the cockpit/bubble area to change it more like the show. On the show, its basically a continuation of the boxy looking hatch/access underneath, the bubble protrudes from a wall not a fuselage. I can trim the bubble and just have a half sphere--at which I can put a lego hinge and move on. The cockpit canopy would sit better as well and easier to make a larger cockpit as well as slide in better detail. My fuselage is a container but that I can easily remove....I think. |

Thanks, she is getting there. Hope to work on her more. I keep looking at the Phantom Shuttle and underneath it there are hollow areas-perhaps some sort of docking or locking in mechanism for the Bigger Ghost ship? Either way, she will have to be of good size in order to dock with the Phantom. At least 2 foot by 2 foot. Not too big but just big enough to have room for a few figures. I would hope a cockpit for at least two and bubble turret x 1 and the front bubble turret x 1. If we could remove part of the top and have a play area like the FALCON, I will be impressed. I don't think the landing gear (3 large square pads ) need to come done, but if Hasbro does it, I hope its manual like the old Kenner Falcon. The hatch in the front of the ship under the bubble should open as well. I liked the electronic Falcon with the sputtering engine start up and then the hyperdrive and the main engines humming along. I really don't think too much needs to be done or overdone. Make a good ship and it should last for a bit. Besides, if we are lucky, maybe we will see one in EPVII.

Wow! Great work! I was really excited to find your project. I'm currently attempting to make a Ghost of my own, and it's very intimidating for me. Seeing your work is a HUGE inspiration! Thank you so much for sharing these work-in-project photos! Looking forward to seeing more!

Thanks. It's still a work in progress but it's cool to get feedback It's appreciated. I keep seeing new aspects on TV. This version is pretty rough approximation but I hope we see it next year. If u check my albums I made an Ebon Hawk --Kenner size. Wish Hasbro would have tapped that.

I have the paper craft Ghost but I haven't assembled it yet. I'm still in the planning stages of my Ghost, and I'm acquiring pieces to make it. Unfortunately, mine will probably be not as big as yours. I'm really excited at the scale you made your Ghost. That's really awesome. I really can't wait to see your finished piece. By the way, my name is Lou (char_leigh). I mostly make custom Tranformers. I've been wanting to make some custom GI Joe stuff, and I've made a few Star Wars stuff. I made a custom Twilight a few years ago. I have photos in this album: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...1&l=0aaffed6a1 Well, I'm dying to see more work in progress photos of your Ghost. It's a really cool project that you're doing. Keep up the great work. |
