Can't wait to see how this one turns out!
And after using a magnifying glass, I can confirm that my Leatherneck's mustache is missing paint too. Or he has herpes. Can we just call him herpes Leatherneck? |

I wonder if I can dye this torso black. Since it's cast, it's not like the factory plastics and seems to take to ink pretty well. If you look I the pic on page 1, half the arm is black and half is blue. I used a black marker in the lower half and the joints so the paint wouldn't rub. It held up pretty goods to me rubbing my fingers across it.
Anyone have an opinion on this, maybe some of the casters?

Try using acetone. I "wash" my parts that I cast with it. I use a Q-tip and put on a light coat over the part. It opens the pours (or something like it) that helps take the paint better.

That's what the directions say to do with this kit, but I figured that the ink would seep in the pores and do just the same without worrying about paint rub. I just don't know how the ink/dye would react with dull coat. I'll have to test it out.

I'd be careful of using any spray style clearcoats over ink, as it would most likely run. If you want to brush on some Acrylic, you'd probably be safe. Not sure about dyes, as I've never tried it with the parts. The officer I've made has a black jacket and arm per request. If your wanting to make it all black, the try a good quality spray paint after giving it a wash in acetone. Be sure to follow prep directions though!
As for waterslides, I only got those made right before Con, so Oliver's did not come with them. The are designed and sized to fit exactly in the sculpted spaces on the figure. The waterslides for the medals will fit down exactly on the space for them, and with some decal solvent will settle right into all the grooves. |

Marine Deadpool, I'm sorry about your son. How is he? Is he doing OK? Spider Bite not infected is it?
Look forward to seeing some pictures soon.

Oliver,
He's ok. The swelling hasn't increased and it's still a little hard bump, doesn't appear to be infected. We go in today for a follow up. I think he'll be fine. Worse thing is they may have to cut it open. He's not ill or anything so we sent him to school today.

Welcome back to the table of awesomeness DP! and yes his mustache has always been unruly!
bout time someone else gave love to the DBA's! I might be a Navy gunner, but I've always respected the look of the dress blues Marines have had. best uniform in the service in my eye.
