I'm working on a custom joe squad for an alternate reality/future I'm dabbling with. These are what i have done, with varying levels of completeness. Please give me feedback,as I'm having a somewhat hard time incorporating the reactive armor into a classic look for some characters...
This is my Snake Eyes. He is closest to finished, and the one I so far am happiest about. I don't plan to do much more to hi. Other than gearing him up. |

Here is stalker. He looks really cool without his webgear, but I'd rather him have some sort of harness, and his 30th anniversary figure might have the most appropriate. Like Snake Eyes, he is pretty much done, but I have to give him his gear.

One of my reasons for this project was to make a good RB figure. We've gotten decent ones but nothing that was quite right. Here is my attempt so far. Not perfect, but not terrible either. Suggestions?

Duke is the last figure I've finished. I want to incorporate some sort of webgear or some tan for his classic shirt, but I haven't found the right recipe. I like him like this, just feel like he could use a bit more...
Edit: I decided to make his shirt khaki colored. Actually really like the result. Last edited by beef664422; 05-17-2014 at 01:00 PM.. |

I like how shipwreck turned out, but I've either got to make his pants blue or his hat grey. Since I've already washed the pants and finished them, I'd rather do the hat. But I'm wondering if blue jeans and hat would look better than grey. Or I could make the hat black and wash it with dark grey. Problem is my black dries to shiny...

I've really just started Flint. All I've done is base-paint his pants. I need to paint the straps, buckles, etc, and do the camo. I'm debating between 2-color brown and green camo or possibly 3 colors. Again any feedback on what I've stated or any other suggestions/thoughts, let me have em.
Edit-I did a little more work to flint... Edit2-I didn't like the smoothness of the paint on Flint's legs, so I stripped them and repainted. Not perfect camo as I am not much of a camo expert, but it thought the pants camo and the boots helped capture Flint's classic look. Last edited by beef664422; 04-28-2014 at 04:53 PM.. |

I've started Rock n Roll and Scarlett also. I've got the parts for lady jaye, and am close with hawk, gung-ho, beach head, clutch, and wild bill. I'll update with pics (hopefully better ones) as I go.
Edit-I finished Rock n Roll. Tried to mix his v2 look with my reactive armor theme. I might do a little more detailing on him and add the ammo belt from Kwinn, but overall, not unhappy. Last edited by beef664422; 05-17-2014 at 12:58 PM.. |

These are looking real good. Maybe use a little of the original colors on each one. Just my 2ยข.

The vest from the Night Force Outback might look good on Duke, and give him some of that tan color you were looking for.
Your Shipwreck almost ends up looking like the ROC Shipwreck, so I'd just get that one and work with it somehow. Kind of a crazy idea, but when I was a kid and Flint's thumb broke, I ended switching his arm with one from a B.A.T., so he had a bionic arm then. You might want to try something like that for Flint. Or just use the lower arm for somebody like Roadblock. A trenchcoat might look on somebody too. Maybe Hawk or Rock 'N Roll. The ones from the Star Wars Endor figures work great for that. |
