As most of you probably know, I keep a pretty detailed photo record of my customs and sculpts and occasionally I like to share what I'm working on.
This particular piece is something from the way old school (try 1979), but a character dear to my heart. You guys want to take a guess (without looking at the photo tag)? |

Guess I'm a little too young to know who ROM is. Thought the torso looked familiar but I was wrong.

That's definitely ROM. I had the toy and comics when I was younger...a lot younger. I like where this WIP is headed. Great idea Alyosha!

Here's a quick pic of the scratchbuilt Neutralizer that I'm making for him. When this is finished, I'll just need to tidy the jetpack, and tweak the sculpt a bit. Look for finished results in about 14 days.

Alyosha,
I actually picked up an original Rom the spaceknight at a toy show yesterday for 5$. It is missing a bunch of stuff, but is over all an awesome figure. |

I did the same thing when I started this project over a year ago. I paid about $15 for mine, in good shape but with no weapons. After carefully reacquainting myself with him (it'd been over 20 years since I had mine as a kid), I decided to base my figure off the comic version of the character, as it was more dynamic and fluid in design than the blocky original. Still, that thing was a seminal toy for it's time, and sadly overlooked these days.
