Splitting these up, for clarity, and image count restrictions. Been a while since I posted anything, it's gotten kind of backed up.
One of my other hobbies is HO scale slot cars. The ones I preffer are reproductions of the old Aurora Magnatraction cars. They're not as stupidly fast, or glued to the track as most modern cars. The Trans Am just has some dry transfer numbers on it. There's some jpg artifacting that makes it look like there's a thin black border on the door number, but there really isn't. The blue Javelin is a bit more involved. It was originally molded with AMC's T-top style vinyl roof. That was just silly, on what's othersie detailed to be a race car. I used thin sheet styrene, Squadron green putty, and a lot of sanding, to smooth out the roof. |

I was never happy with Raridan's energy sword. I saw a simply constructed fantasy sword, and new that construction method was perfect for Raridan. I only made a few minor changes to the base design. The inspirations was tri-gate's blade 120.
I didn't like that Jay'cyn couldn't extend her arm, when shooting her sling mounted Sterling. I also finally got around to making a full length banana clip for it. The new set up is easily removed the harness, and I added a second mounting ring on the side, for right handed use. The harness modifications were inspired by Obi-Shinobi's Sake Eyes. |

I made a few changes to Greyryder's sword and undermount chainsaw. I wanted him to get his hand into the opten area of the bayonet. To do that, I also had to cut back the armor over his left hand. Since I modelled that to be heavier than the armor on his right arm, I extended it further up his arm.

I put the new style Duke arms on my repainted Falcon, and added a working catch to his webgear.

I added sculpted hair to my scar face Cobra officer. This has been done forever, but I keep forgetting to post it. The nice thing is that the added size from the hair makes his helmet fit well enough to actually stay on. But, I never want to cover the hair, with the helemt. I also painted his webgear in desert tan, but I didn't bother with getting that in the pictures. The two colors don't look that much different in pictures.

For some reason, I've always had this image of Snake Eyes with the visor silver. Dunno where I got that from. Maybe I've seen Ladyhawke too many times. I cut his bandolier seperate from his belt, then shortened it to fit a little more like the original V2 version. The sword is another one I made with the same construction style as Raridan's. To me, it's a horrible weapon for a commando. It's too big and cumbersome for sneaking around. Maybe it's the one he uses, for full on assault's. I'm going to make a proper ninja-ken using this construction, for him. He's got the knife from DVD pack Roadblock, because it will actually fit securely in his hand.

I wanted to make my own commando. He's mostly an LBC, with a little green paint to recolor the Cobra trooper mask. Body is comic pack Hawk. I cut the holster and grenade off the web gear, and replaced the tiny little pineapple with one of Marauder's frag grenades. The holster is made from .010 inch think black styrene sheet, glued to the cut down base of the leg insert knife sheath. The beret was cut off of a Falcon head, hoolowed out, and painted. I painted the patch in standard green and black field colors. Back pack is from wave 9 Hawk, and the helmet is from a comic pack Duke. The weaponized machete is scratchbuilt. The Scar-H, reflex sight, M26 undermount shotgun, and .45 pistol are from Marauder. I shortedned the barrel on the XM26 to look more like a production version M26. He's an anti-insurgent specialist, code named Mouser. He's still a work in progress, but mostly just needs storage for his machete.

I've wanted a Steel Brigade, forever. This is mostly a Tiger Force Duke. The lower arms and the knife on the left leg are from Lift Ticket. The knife on the bandolier is from Snake Eyes. The M14 EBR, front grip, combat optic scope, and .45 pistol are from Marauder. The backpack is from a comic pack Duke, and the knife sheaths and holster are made from sheet styrene. The straps for the leg scabbard is made from electrical tape. The head is the same falcon head I cut Mouser's beret off of. Along with sculpting a new top of his head, I also cut a little bit off the bottom of the shin, and sanded down Falson's chin implant in the front. I see this guy as a dirty fighting brawler type, code named Roughhouse. I just need to finish his helmet. It's being made from a Hevvy Hitters dirtbike helmet. There won't be much of it visible, when I'm done. The new visor is already cut, I'm waiting untill after paint is finished, to glue it in place.

I found a Hotwheels 1/18 scale chopper that I really liked, and thought would be good for Zartan. But, he couldn't reach the handlebars. Here's the preliminary work, on the new bars. My small round needle file was a life saver for shaping those new control levers.
