From the Joe Garage comes the TALON- Tactical Ariel Low-flying Observation and Nullifier.
The plane is super-small, requiring less runway. It offers greater range, protection, speed and mobility than the gliders and jets packs that the Joes use. It can carry two gun-pods on the wings along with either two air-to-air or air-to-ground missiles. On the top, a rotating gun can be mounted or a drone can be placed on top for deployment. This allows the TALON to be outfitted for what is needed for the mission. In addition, this small craft is intended for low-altitude flight, with stealth coating over the body. In addition, should the TALON need to go down in hostile territory, a Joe would have an arsenal at his or her disposal. Both of the machine guns on either side of the cockpit are removable. If the drone is still with the TALON it can be used as an emergency JUMP pack, and if the top-mounted turret gun is on, it can be removed and used. The TALON is being test-flown by GI Joe test pilot Thunderhead. This thing will be complete once I have finished making the canopy. The plane came from Family Dollar. I cut out the pre-seated pilot and widened the cockpit. The whole thing was a pinkish-brown with some brown sprayed across for a desert look. I took the whole thing apart, removed the sound-effects, and sprayed it in flat black. I added the green, using masking tape to keep the lines straight and clean. The hole for the sound button made a perfect fit for the turret gun, made from parts I had lying around. I enlarged the speaker hole to accommodate the drone attachment. The gun pods were ROC SS launchers, modified to clip to the wings. The missiles were cut off from the plane and new missile racks were made from old library cards so the missiles just clip to them. The landing gear were made removable so the plane can be shown with the gear down or up. The decals were paper. |

Thanks! I really appreciate you looking at this- your customs are phenomenal! Maybe you would have some ideas on how I could finish that danged canopy?

Very impressive! Great work!
Well with the canopy..why don't you cut/make a hole in the plane nose inside, so the legs can fill it. Than your figure will lay like Ace in his new SkyStriker =) |

The problem I am having with the canopy is I am having to build it, and I haven't found a clear plastic that I can manipulate into shape and have it stay attached to the frame. Keep up the good work- using household items to customize is the way to go for me, too! |

file holder with elastic , Manufacturers from Shantou Dilanchun Industrial Co., Ltd. I made the gunner shield and the blackhawk floor from this material. It's not a plastic but not a cardboard either. Maybe this will help you =) If I were you I would cut off the nose part of the plane and make it longer so the figure can even nearly lay in the cockpit. Thanks to laying - his head won't borther the top of the canopy. To make the nose part longer (do a room for the legs) - well I could use the cardboard part of the toilet paper roll)))...Cut a longer circle (its diameter is good for Joe's..or you can change its measures as you want) and attach it from the inside. It will be like a mini tonnel of cardboard for the figures legs =) Half of it attach to the plane part...and the other part glue with the cutted part. From inside! The gap between the plastic cutted parts you can fill up with cardboard sheets rolled and glued upon the used paper roll part. I hope you will understand. =) Quote:
Hope your custom will be ready soon, can't wait to see it finally =) |
