Ok Hisstankers so we all seem to make some cool ass customs BUT we always seem to forget that IF our custom was ever actually mass produced it'd need a BOX to be sold in right?
Well I am hard at work at creating for now at least FRONT BOX ART for my customs.... eventually making the box as well so that at least ONE custom I make and keep has a box to display with the item AND to possibly store it in. Here is one box design I am pretty happy with so far. I call upon my fellow Tankers once again lol. By the way..... before I forget.... I CAN MAKE CUSTOM BOX ART FOR ANYONE! All I really need is photos of your custom, the clearer and higher resolution the picture the better, and the best method is to have photos of the completed custom with nothing else in the photo. Easiest way to do this is by taking pictures with a WHITE SHEET used for background and the floor in which custom is standing on. Last edited by jpdraven; 04-25-2012 at 11:05 PM.. |

I was actually considering doing this. I was beginning to think I was the only one. I would love to see a finished box.

OK all if you look at the above picture I have made edits and uploaded a NEW picture in replacement of the old picture and this is what I have so far.... and I think it will suffice.
I KNOW, the angle of this Skystriker II is not exactly the same angle as the XF-14 on the box.... but hey, do you guys know how much time it takes to mask these things out in Photoshop, then clean it up, save it with a transparent background so I can import it into Illustrator!? IT'S TIME CONSUMING LOL. So this is what I think I am staying with. It looks clean, has most of the classic feel to it, and even has an 80's Hasbro House Logo and NOT the New Hasbro Logo. Vintage all around with a modern twist of cool to it. :-) |

I found custom boxes WITH A HANDLE that I'll be using as my packaging. They are VERY COOL boxes. Check out the pic above ;-) IF all works out well I WILL have custom boxes ready for the Long Island Toy Show, and YES the Customs I sell WILL HAVE BOXES! Not everyone can display everything all the time and for a custom that we pay good money to make OR buy from someone I felt that they needed a protected resting place. No better way then with a box.... BUT a custom box! Granted Vehicles like this one are large BUT when you take the tail fins and wing extensions off they are rather compact. All I have to do now is find affordable foam that I can cut to size, slide in box, and cut the proper shape out for the jet to snugly fit in for protection and the boxes will be a lock... and a reality! When the project is completed I WILL take photos of the jet with it's new custom packaging and post them. As we all know customs are a labor of love, I mean c'mon if we didn't love doing it chances are we wouldn't, and for me personally I felt that this completes a custom, makes it feel more professional, gives it another aspect of quality in workmanship. IF the custom is good and made well I think this absolutely completes it. Last edited by jpdraven; 04-25-2012 at 11:05 PM.. |

Boxes arrived last night. Id have taken pics BUT I am sick as a dog. Feel like there's a hundred midgets hitting me with ball peen hammers all over my body :-(
Anyhow once I have the cardboard inserts mocked up to hold the jets in place in the box I'll take more pics and post. |
