Custom Cobra Night Landing Trailer

Hi.

I was looking for a trailer that I could attach to my V.A.M.P. and carry my Cobra Night Landing which are two vehicles I really like and finally picked up that I wanted to display. I looked at a couple solutions but none of them satisfied me enough so I decided to make my own after reading the styrene guide by freakintiger. I have never done anything along these lines when it has come to modeling so should be fun. I went out and bought a bunch of supllies but I still need two V.A.M.P. wheels and waiting for a hobby mitre box that I am hoping the guy gets in soon so that I can start. Tried to do some angle cuts but not perfect enough.

Anyways I have the blueprints done and I ended up using some cotton twine and using a permanent marker to make it black to make rope. I could not find thick enough thread or what I was looking for anywhere and plus it actually stiffened it up and made it exactly how I wanted it. I have some brass eyelets which I will attach to the frame and this will tie down the raft.

I will update once I get started.

man, not sure if canada has micheals, but i'm sure you have a craft store. they should have the mitre box, and the saws, they also have stuff to make necklaces and such, in that section you can find hemp rope, and it is perfect scale for thick rope for the joes, it's the width of their semi closed fist. it fits right in like a gun does, and it's black. check out walmarts craft section too.

doeas the permanent ink leave a black residue?

what vamp are you talking about, the 25th or the poc?

and a stinger would look supreme with a night landing and trailer..

Yeah we have Michaels but I don't want to waste a bus ticket lol. The hobby store is going to get me the mitre box anyways and I have the saw already along with a handle. He was just out of the mitre boxes.

I figured it was permanent marker and it may need time to still dry but when I pull it thru a paper towel it leaves a black mark. I will check it in a few days. If it still does it I will have to go and find some proper string.

Just don't feel like having to do a 1 hour bus trip just to get thread/rope.

i hear you, um, maybe wash it in hot soapy water to wash out the ink a bit and let it dry.. try that

This is the V.A.M.P. I am using. Version 1 1982. I don't have a stinger but this trailer will work on that vehicle along with the V.A.M.P. Mark II.

Why I am looking for scrap wheels from a V.A.M.P. v1 1982 for the trailer to match it. Stinger and V.A.M.P. Mark II wheels would work as well and I could always paint them. Also looking for original steering wheel since it has wrong one but the bonus was the guy had packaged it with the V.A.M.P. Mark II hood and doors which I think looks cool.

great idea, I cant wait to see how this turns out. I believe the only way you could get a sharpie to not release the ink is to get one of the super permanent ones. They are marked for industrial use other wise the standard ones actually come off most of the time.

Yeah store only had white :(

But I ended up buying some military flat black paint anyways since it would have to be painted.
