I know a Lot of people make cool customs and sell them, some even make decent money selling them.
But How can you part with them? I mean, you work, and make a really cool, awesome customs. that would look great on your shelf, or as part of your collection... and you just let it go and sell it? I personally can't do it. its like selling my children! your thoughts?

this is just me personally, but as my skills have progressed some of my older customs just dont cut it for me anymore, and I have an easier time parting with them. Or I just scrap them for parts and make a better version. There are plenty I'll never sell though

I've always wondered that myself. I for one love my creations and would have a very difficult time parting with them.
I know for some people though it's a second (or primary in some cases) source of income... so if that's the only reason you're creating, for the money, not the love I'm sure it would be easy to let go.

Personally I like the process of creating more than staring at a completed piece.

Same for me. Once I'm done, it's closure. Some of my best I'll never part with, but I can always go back and make something better. Selling it off is part of the fun too... if someone else enjoys your work enough to buy it, I take it as a compliment.

I generally make a custom specifically for my collection so I know ahead of time there would be no selling.

It all depends on how it turns out, whether it's a favorite or expendable character. A lot of my firsts I gave away (Last I knew Daremo still had my urban Snake Eyes all in light and medium blue, displayed on a shelf... Gave it to him during our very first deal back in 07/08) I sold an older Sneak Peek or 60 online, even though I wasn't happy with it.
But as my skills and technique get better, it's harder to let go, especially now that nearly 80 percent of my collection are exclusive customs or heavy mods. I don't think I could part with my Night Force Pathfinder, Repeater, Spearhead and Crazylegs, but figs like Topside, Rampart, DeeJay and Airtight I'd trade in an instant
