Hey I just read some of this posts and i'm sure I might of missed it by now. You don't have to heat up the figure. You can do the same thing with just the xacto knife. I have been doing this since the joes came out. It works great!

thaks for making this a sticky, i did this to one of my (many) Dukes and all of my greenshirts last night. so much better. i also tried it on a Cobra trooper, have to be more careful as there is less to remove didn't work as good but still better.
oh yea i used my wifes hair dryer worked great. |

What I did to fix my Duke arms for figures like RnR and Clutch was to use a Flint style arms. I didn't take WIP pictures, but I basically cut off the sleeve cuff of the lower arms, and trimmed the diameter fo the upper arm joint. I hollowed out the sleeve and placed it over the trimmed diameter upper sleeve bicep area to make it look like rolled up sleeves.
When I do this to Falcon, I'll try to take some WIP pics.

I have a Serpentor that the wrist/arm peg broke off when I was trying to bend his elbow.
How can I fix it? |
