Backpacks for 25th Tele-vipers

One thing that always bothered me about the 25th Tele-vipers (aside from their hands :( ) were that they did not come w/ the cool back packs like the original '85 Tele-viper ( YOJOE.COM | Tele-Viper ).

So I got a hold of some original '85 Tele-viper backpacks and modified my 25th ones to accept the '85 backpack. The factory hold in the back of the 25th TV is too small and in the wrong position to accept the backpack, so you WILL have to modify your 25th TV to accept the pack. :(

Basically all I did was figure out about where I wanted the pack to sit, take a SMALL drill bit and re-drill a new hold in the new position. Once I had the small pilot hole, I then took to right size bit compared to the post on the pack (DON'T go TOO big!!), drilled out the hole w/ the bigger bit, and I was in business!

One thing though, do NOT go too far INTO the figure, b/c then you are going to have a TV w/ a chest wound also.

Anywho, here's the final product, along w/ the re-painted HK MP5 that came w/ the 25th Cobra Para-Viper came with. They were originally molded in dark blue and looked like hell, so I just painted them solid black.

Now my 25th TVs look almost as good as the original, I know they don't have the goofy gun and hose the original did, but I was never a big fan of that anyway.

Enjoy -

looks good. They really missed out on the Tele-Viper. If they would have put that on a single card with correct gear and a better head, it would have been a big hit.

It might also be that all the communications electronics in the back-back from back then would fit in a kid's cell-phone nowadays.

Still, I think they need some kind of pack, so good show on that.

Good stuff. I just used some of those rubber bands on mine.

Side note, I thought the original TV came with a 'scanner' gun rather than an actual weapon.

Question, wouldnt it be easier to modify the backpacks instead of drilling a hole into the figure?

Otherwise, looks good and just what the Tele-Vipers needed.

Oh and thanks for the reminder that I need to modify the backpack I have for my Tele-Viper.

Hell, my Black Berry probably does more than that back does now! Regardless, the NEEDED something. This was a really cool figure Hasblow could have sold a LOT more of, even w/ the fubar wrists. :(

Yeah, but I wasn't in that mind set when I did them and I really just wanted the packs to stay on easily.

Biggest thing about these guys is trying to pose them to hide their wrists. :(

Whatever it was it looked goofy. I think it was some kind of sound capturing thing on the '85 figure, and I KNOW I saw it as a video monitor in the Marvel comics somewhere in Serpentor's reign.

I did this by using a BIC pen cap.

Let me know what you think.
