Is that #2 brush stiff or soft? The hardest part to paint to me are the eyes but even when Im drawing the eyes are the hardest.

Here are a couple of statues I did a few years back. I'm better at painting slightly larger scale items. But eyes and lips are always the hardest to get. Eyes tell a story of the person. I also lay a thin coat of gloss clear to the eyes once they are dry, to give them that deep look, also the curve of lips can make a world of difference too. These two won best in show. I Do like how they came out. Thanks for sharing your tips. I'll have to try them on my next custom!

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but this just had to be front paged now...!!!
I'd love to try your techniques, but I'm not even sure if my hands are small enough or steady enough... Still, it's fun enough to see your work and turn green with envy...!

Thanks for the tips. I'll never be able to paint as well as you, but this helped a lot.

wow!! that's a great looking scarlet on ur pro.pic!!!
I definitely hv to try this, I usually paint only the helmets of my chaos warriors army, never before a big n beautiful head of joe's ladies. I hv a plan to custom lady jaye. If your basic color is dark, like MU mystique's skin, u hv to primer it right? or sanding it too first? What citadel's color do u use?
