You can heat parts up with a hairdryer and then bend them etc, and put it in cold water and it kinda stays. However parts can return to a memory position, maybe even at room temperature, so don't really have a solution for you. I have glued a pointed trigger finger to the other fingers to give it a curve.

If Joe, than no...the torso must be cracked open or pried open. If MU, same. For most Star Wars, you can dunk them in hot water than pop the arms out. Same with Indiana Jones.

Also, is there an easy and/or safe way to remove the lower rivet from a Joe's kneecap piece? I've got a figure whose knees are really loose at the lower knee joint, and I was going to try putting some nail polish or superglue (probably the latter) into the joint to tighten it up. But it's a little hard to get it in there with the joint intact.

What do you guys usually do for spikes? I'm looking to make some spiked gauntlets.

Take the lower leg off and it might help to heat it up some. Then use a flat head screwdriver to pry the side of the leg away from the knee part. The peg should come loose. Then you can work it out of the other hole (might need to feed it through the hole). To put it all back together, insert the peg from the inner leg side, through the knee part, and then I use pliers to squeeze the leg so the peg goes into the other hole. Be careful on that, the pliers can damage the soft plastic leg if you squeeze too hard.

I don't have a hair dryer, so I just use hot water to soften the hands up before I bend them shut and subject them to cold. And as long as they *remain* cold, they'll stay how I bent them. But they don't remain bent when they revert to room temperature. I've even tried putting them in the freezer for more than 24 hours just to try to get the memory position reset, but no dice--they'll go back to stretched-out within maybe 30 minutes.

I would say the options are basically to cut them from some existing toy etc, or to use the green stuff etc to shape some.

Cross-posting from the "Marvel Universe 3.75'' figures thread", since it's probably more appropriate for this thread than that one (apologies in advance if this is an example of bad etiquette)...
Dammit, this just happened... :( My IM2 Hulkbuster's left hand peg was stuck, and the hand just twisted off. Figures that it happens now and not 6 years ago when I could have gotten a refund for it. Any suggestions on how to repair this? I don't know if the pin method usually used for Joes is going to work well in this case.

Another cross-post. It's good news, and maybe a useful alternate method, so I'm posting it here too:
I managed to get it fixed without using the pin method! My crazy idea of slicing the hand open with an X-acto knife to retrieve the plug worked. Turns out Krazy Glue wasn't strong enough for the repairs; the plug broke off immediately when I tried to reattach the hand. I tried Loctite, and it worked MUCH better. The peg stayed on soundly as I stuffed it back into the fist. I was also able to use Loctite and a bit of Krazy Glue to seal the cuts in the hand I created; I then used a bit of vegetable oil to dissolve the excess on the surface. Time will tell if this repair holds up, but boy, it's raised my sprits! Now I'm considering trying this on a Joe and/or an Elite Force figure with similar breakage...

Well, I decided to repeat this style of repair on a PoC Snake Eyes (v53, with "Tornado Kick") that had a stuck hand plug...and it didn't work so well. Even with Loctite AND a metal pin holding the two parts together, the plug and hand separated after insertion and initial twisting. I also wound up dissolving a bit of paint off the forearm guard. Good news is I'm putting the figure up for cheap on my B/S/T since I don't want to spend any more time trying to repair it.

Can someone link me to the thread on posting pictures?
Also what is a good free image hosting site as a replacement for Photobucket? Thank you in advance.
