Y'know he kinda reminds me of "Rampage" (v2) the driver for the GI Joe Splitfire. Who just so happens to be one of Beachhead's good friends, according to his file card:

Although I don't really see why it'd be called that. But I guess it could be explained in its bio or something, so it doesn't matter. Because he has some black colors and it's a little different. I still like Lynchpin too. Maybe that is a good Cobra name.

So we're only allowed to comment on something if we like it? Hmmm?
That smells a bit like fascism to this old soldier? I appreciate the enthusiasm Warrant Officer, I really do. I think it's awesome that a guy half my age is geeking out on stuff that I loved 20 years ago! I've done 2 25th customs so far and it's very difficult re-using the parts to come up with something different. This is probably even more difficult for a (15 yr old?) due to your limited resources. I was ready for any and all criticism when I posted pics of them on the 'Tank. However, gettin' your chops busted a little for a slightly re-painted figure isn't going to scar you for life, but it will teach you how to roll with a punch. The steel brigade custom was a great idea and you're well on your way with this figure. What stoked my fire a bit was that you were giving up on that great idea and settling for a lesser project. If I were you, I'd maybe ask some of the customizers here for some spare or specific parts that you might need. This place is good like that. No matter what you read from "us jerky 3rd graders", keep the customs coming man! |

I think some other websites with Customs forums that have matured a little over time(TFW2005, Figurerealm.com just to name 2) have some basic guide lines to avoid messy threads like this, maybe one day Hisstank can improve the GI Joe Customs forum so that people can leave comments and constructive criticisms without it turning into a free for all.

The first one to call the character a Beach head like character might have been a little insensitive but i think most others were associating it to when we were kids and how we played. We always made up brother characters who were just as cool and had a name similar to their more famous bro. It's funny because how many brothers are really that much alike.
But anyways, if the majority feel it's still Beachhead, you might want to alter the figure a little more. You may find something you like by not settling and taking the comments, though sometimes insensitive, as having a small truth to it. I was looking at the figure and outside of reused parts of beachhead, i think I figured out one basic thing that's making everyone think it's close to beachhead. When you look at beachhead, he's always had a darker torso than his legs. By painting the torso a different dark color, it's not breaking up that association much. Darker legs and maybe a lighter torso or a more high contrast camo pattern can really make this figure take off and become it's own. At some point, I'll post some spare parts i can give up, if you want to try to make something out of them. |

I don't think it's the "pleasant" that is the issue, it's the "constructive" that is.
