I've been adding a similar O-ring articulation to the current 25th figures. It gives them greater flexibility and the legs have better range.
After a lot of experimentation, this is the current method I like. After cutting the lower torso off just a little higher than the top of the legs (and after much sanding). I wrap a plastic/rubber band around the top point of the torso joint until it only has a little slack left. Then I wrap the leftover slack under the joint and back over top. these bands stretched around the bottom will be pulled down and used to hook into the hip. Now the dilemma. I started using the comic pack/5 pack clear bands but I can never get them to be...perfect. Then on a whim I used these black bands around the flippers to to a BBI para diver and they've been a perfect imitation. The only problem is I don't want to have to buy a para diver for every two figures I do. I already have to find classic joe hip pieces, i don't want to keep buying a deluxe figure I don't want or use just for two pieces of rubbery plastic. Any ideas on how I can find something like this without buying the toy? |

If you could show a pic of any of what you said or the finished product it would be help full. I do not know what the pieces you are using look like. Thanks.

the only two I have, have been used and once used I can't take them apart easily to show them. The pic I've got is this... http://sshqdb.com/coppermine/display...lbum=508&pos=1 In the packaging you'll notice the flippers have a black band wrapped around each of them. I don't know what the purpose is but it's flat, about 1/8" wide, with some elasticity to it. They have a lot of tension to them and are quite durable. |

I think he was refering to a pic of your finished product afterwards. So that we can come up with suggestions on what else you could use. Pics make it easier to visualize other options.. the pic of what you have used already is half of it.. the other half would be seeing your figure.
Plus i'm sure I speak for most of us on just wanting to see the creation you have made.

Plus i'm sure I speak for most of us on just wanting to see the creation you have made. If you look for the thread Hit N Run WIP, you'll see the first one I did. I'll see what I can do about showing how to make it but it's difficult without tearing a figure apart that's been glued, sealed, and painted. |

I wish I could help with what you are looking for, but nothing comes to mind right off the bat. However, I have a question for you: what waist pieces are you using?

For Hit N Run, I'm using ARAH Snake Eyes version 4. Since HNR will have a belt and harness, I'm using hip pieces that are blank, otherwise the belt won't fit or the belt will limit the articulation.
For the Night Viper, it's ARAH Night Viper. I chose to use the original because I had it laying around and I wasn't planning on giving him a belt. |

I know I have seen little black rubber bands at wal mart that match what you have been using off the para seal figures flippers. I think they are in the Stationary section. They are much like the clear bands that come attached to the 25th figures holding their weapons in, but more durable and elastic.
Very nice conversions. Did you use Dark Woman's head for your Lady Jay?

I actually kinda like this idea for uber articulation. I'd check craft stores for the bands too.
