I've been doing a lot of work lately, to finish off my 25th Joeverse, and wanted to see what people thought:
First up is my Action Foce set. Quarrel, Blades, Hunter, and Gaucho are the standard repaints. Lt. Stone is a ROC Gen Hawk body with ROC Zartan's upper left arm (the MP band helps make the transition) and a Star Wars Magnaguard arm (removed the excess thumb). He's still a WIP, needing his eyepatch and some paint work on his robo-arm. In anticipation of Argen-7 being completed between Hasbro and the Club, Claymore here will act as their official liason to the Joes. I call these guys Forca Naja, despite the absence of Relampago and Gatilho. Mortal I've shown here before, and at 2 years old he's probably in need of repainting. Ninjaku's head was painted from a Comic 5-pack Storm Shadow before the Hasbro version was announced. I also removed the backpack from his chest strap, to better approximate the original figure. Sei-Tin is pretty much done, but needs some touch-up work. Finally, DeAco uses BBQ's head and weapons because I didn't want two Snake-Eyes heads running around the same sub-team. he has the same overall look, but a more robotic feel. Finally, Overkill (a WIP, still needs a helmet, belt, and inter-changable weapons) Vypra (also utilizes ROC Flash's head for her masked look), Interrogator and Dr. Knox. At this point, I'm only Munitia and Scalpel away from having all the Cobra agents I want. Thanks for looking! Any recipe questions, ask away. Most should be pretty self-explanatory tho. |

i like what you got going there.
the only thing Id suggest is using more than just flat colors and washes and dry brushes are awesome to incorporate as well!

Dude, I gotta be honest...
Your paint apps are great. Smooth texture, clean lines, even coating... you did great. Accuracy and level of detail are dead-on. Keep it up, these are the kinda customs we like seeing! |

indeed, great choice of characters and paint apps. that red "back drop" is nice too, but don't over use it. toss it up, color-wise, it can give another photo brilliance to your work. like the other tankers said, keep it up!

They look pretty good but all too clean, if you know what I mean. What I do with mine is give them a dirty "wash" that gives the ridges in the plastic definition. I use a drop of black or brown acrylic and then add a generous amount of water and then brush on and let the paint settle into the grooves.
