I like the Wet Suit fix with the Viper knees but I don't like the Viper lower legs because of the buckles along the top of the boot. I'm thinking of swapping them out with the ROC Deep Six lower legs.
Has anyone replaced just the knee joint itself? |

Yep, i have. Hot water makes it easy to remove. Dip the legs in hot kettle water for about 30 seconds, then the knees joints should be easy to remove. It takes abit of work.

It never ruined the 2 figures' legs i did it too. They are in my sig pic. Though i have to say that not all legs are compaitable with others. But then you are using the same legs, just repainted.

I've done it quite a few times. Use a hair dryer, it's easier. Heat up the knee until it's soft and then you can replace it.

It's not hard and won't damage your figure. It's hard to see in this pic, but I swapped the knees out on these two Storm Shadow customs and they look and function fine after. Just make sure it's soft enough and note which direction the pin goes in. It only goes in one direction.

I don't even use heat. I essentially use a little metal rod from the inside, out just popping it through. Never ruined a knee yet.

That pretty much what I do, I use a little screw driver and push the pin through, no problems yet.

It's what I did originally to my custom Wet Suit some time ago using Torpedo's lower legs and feet.
I used the boil water method myself. http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...m-wetsuit.html If you could find yourself a RoC Cobra Eel, you'll see that its lower legs and feet are cast in black which makes it a better choice because there is no painting involved. |
