Hi,
I've never known where to ask this question and most of the painting I do is on miniature starships (Star Wars and Trek), but I've noticed that a lot of people use Vallejo here so I thought I'd give it a shot. A lot of my Vallejo paint tends to turn super watery after a time. Sometimes it comes that way. It's almost like a wash and not really paint. Needless to say, this can make it quite unusable. I've had to just buy a new one when it happens. Is there any way to fix this when it happens? Is there something (other than maybe age) that causes it? I've noticed it pops up as an issue in Amazon reviews too. I prefer Vallejo to Citadel because of the great dropper containers, but I might give up if I keep getting duds. Thanks!

I’m not the only one then....
Yes I’ve had this happen twice and both times it was with light colors (white and yellow). Both were purchased that way too. I went and purchased another white and it was better. Still I a little more watery that other colors but better. What are the colors you’ve have this issue with?

We're talking acrylics? Try cornstarch, added a little at a time. Ive never used Vallejo, but this is my go to for any water based paint. Mix it well though, it can get clumpy if you're not careful.

I have more trouble with Vallejo paints getting too thick and drying out. Their containers aren't as airtight as they seem and I'm in a desert climate, so stuff dries out here easily.

But I've also had occasional issues with Ghost Gray (my go to for Federation starship hulls). I also have a very watery lime/flourescent green and orange.

Oh Game Air, that's very thin compared to something like Model Color since it's designed for airbrush use not traditional brush application.
