Over the years, I've seen some great customs and dios using LED lights. I'd like to maybe start incorporating LED lights into some projects. Does anyone have any tips on basics of using LED lights for dios? My questions are as follows:
Which LED lights are the best? Single lights, or a strip of lights, etc. How do you wire them? Do the wires just need to be touching? How do you wire them to a battery? Where do you get them? Thanks for your responses. If there is a thread already, then please post it here. Thanks!!!

Use solder for connections and either tape or heat-shrink the connections to protect them. You can buy battery pack units with wire leads or if you plan to go with a 9V setup you can buy a bundle of those 9V battery plug thingies for not much money. You want low voltage, low amperage. For structures you might find old AC adapters from a thrift store useful so you can just plug it in rather than rely on batteries. Just read the small print on the adapter to make sure the voltage and amperage are consitent with your needs. You can buy barrel plugs with wire leads to plug right into those AC adapters for a super easy, removable means of powering your diorama. You can find the diodes and battery connections on eBay from chinese sellers (probably Amazon, too). I really like digikey for diodes, resistors, and switches but their search feature takes some getting used to. It can be difficult to even find diodes if you don't know what you're looking for.

I second everything zap said. i get these, they've already got resistors, they're dirt cheap, and the guy has always delivered with a quickness.
the 8-10mm sizes are my personal favorite. https://www.ebay.com/itm/20Pcs-1-8mm...y6K0skgaezCwcA on a good note, the wiring can be as simple or as complex as you want to make it, as long as you've got the polarity straight- my first use was 5 10mm diodes literally electrical taped to a single 9v terminal, through a cheap toggle switch.
