My oldest son was old enough to play with G.I.Joe Valor vs Venom, Spy Troops, and Sigma Six. It was refreshing to know that I had passed down a love of G.I.Joe and Star Wars (younger son played with SW). Between G.I.Joe and Legos, that may have been the catalyst behind my oldest son's decision to become an Engineer in the Army.
Jason That's awesome that your son is an Army Engineer! Quote:
Sometimes I question why I am still into GI Joes and collect them. I have gone through periods like you did where you stated that collecting just didn't "do it" for you anymore (for lack of a better term). My collection has ebbed and flowed since my senior year of HS in 2000 - priorities change etc but I always found myself coming back to the figures throughout the 2000s and 2010s. I just get a big kick out of being able to acquire figures I may not have had as a kid or I had but traded away/lost. I don't know if it is cathartic or crazy lol. I can't wait to see what else you are going to post to your IG account. I vaguely remember the Bivouac site and when you mentioned Evilface it really jostled my memory. I used to get lost in one sites diostories - It may have been on the Bivouac (or generalsjoes...i can't remember), but they were really fantastic and well done dios with good storylines. I look back at that time with alot of fondness. Also sorry if I am hijacking this thread. Last edited by HitandRun; 12-14-2019 at 02:03 PM.. |

Still around. So far I’ve posted most of the pictures I’ve been able to find of our custom work. I’ve got pictures of our collection from that era, but they’re not as interesting. Hopefully I’ll come across more pictures from the old days and when I do, I’ll be sure to post them.
