I recently got a lot of vintage figures. Looks like at some point the owner put their initials on the figures using black permanent marker. Any recommendations for how to remove the marker? I tried using nail polish remover on Wet-Suit - the area I applied the nail polish remover looks a little rough now. I was going to move forward using it but figured I should ask to see if there are gentler/milder chemicals and or processes to use.

Try Isopropyl rubbing alcohol. I use it to clean figures when refurbishing them.

I've also heard hair spray.
