got a guy I need the arms from. how do I pop him open. he has a solid chest with no mid point articulation.

Crack him with a vise, but not at the shoulders. The 1-piece torsos are tougher than the articulated ones in my experience and you have a better chance of wrecking the arms on them. The torso will probably stress, so assume you'll be throwing it out.

They are damn near impossible to split “clean” the way Joes do.
I’ve actually used a dremel and cut open some that I did not intend to use the torso on in order to get the arms out. If you don’t intend to use the torso then you can always go that route.

cool, thanks for the info. I don't plan on keeping the body anyway. the only thing I really salvage off these guys is the arms, hands, feet, and heads. the rest of the bodies get tossed in the junk bin. I've only popped star wars guys so far, about to get into a pile of marvel guys I've had laying around I've gotten loose from garage sales etc.

I got a few ideas now that I know you have to crush it. if I find a way that doesn't involve a vise i'll let you guys know.
