Good Day,
I only recently realised that there is a community out there that take to customizing their Transformers and GiJoes, and was wondering if you guys can offer some guidance. I always thought it would have been neat to have some of the Joe and Cobra vehicles as 1:72 scale model kits. I am kind of surprised this never occurred or that ready made models were not really put out with the exception of the fairly rare die cast metal vehicles put out in the early 80s, that I would love to see re-issued. I suggest 1:72 as its the most popular model scale and the sizing I believe gives the best overall detail and look for the size of the model. Seeing Joe and Cobra vehicles with real scale and detail of actual planes and tanks would be very impressive, and be even more striking due to the sharpness it would offer past the toys we know and grew up with. So has anyone made decals or stickers that could be used on models that are based on GiJoe or Cobra vehicles? A full set of stickers for a 1:72 model version? I know one or two designers on Shapeways made small scale models of the VAMP, FANG and HISS...they are quite impressive..almost 1:72 scale but still a bit smaller. There was also some bookshop electronic mini HISS made...these are all impressive and inspired I believe from the old die cast GiJoe vehicles. Some vehicles like the SkyStriker is wholly based on the F-14 Tomcat, and could be made, perhaps with custom made decals if someone knew how to make those properly. Some other vehicles are taken directly from real vehicles or prototype vehicles...unfortunately there is no stand in for the Rattler, which is a modified A-10 plane or the Cobra Raven, that is an extremely heavily modified SR-71. The MMS, triple anti-aircraft missile launcher that was also one of the die cast is a HAWK anti-air system, a model that might be made in 1:72 by Gran company, but a coat of green paint might be all that is needed for that one. Thanks for your input, Cheers! Milanx3 |
