I love the ROC Cover Girl body, but the head is awful. I'd love to replace it.
I own several Black Widows from the 3.75" Marvel line. One fits perfect (the one on BW in the pic below), but I don't really love the look of it as Cover Girl. Another looks much better, but doesn't quite sit far enough down the neck. Are there any other Marvel figures that fit on GI Joe bases easily? I don't have a dremel tool so I can't really make a head fit, so it would have to match similar to the TRU Black Widow above. What success have others had with this body? Could a normal drill be used to make the head sit a bit lower on the neck? Thanks! |

You can drill into the head to make it sit lower, or Dremel down deeper into the head to let it sit lower. You can also keep the head as is and add a neck scarf. If you mess up and lower it too much, then you can put poster tack putty in to get the height back. You could add green stuff instead in the hole, which will be more permanent. The latter 2 techniques are used when the head hole is too big or deep for the neck post. Isn't customising fun!!!

I just want to bump this.
The ROC Cover Girl body has a very long neck that is kind of strange. Has anyone had any success using a Marvel Universe head on this? I bought a very cheap Shanna from eBay and it doesn't work at all. The Black Widow above simply won't sit on the neck low enough either. This neck obviously works with some other heads because they used an Agent Helix head on it to make Dial Tone (although, frankly, even it doesn't sit quite right). Drilling to drop a head lower is beyond my ability (I failed with a BW head; I think I need a dremel tool, which is more than I'm willing to invest in fixing Cover Girl). |
