So in the past I've seen a lot of people use the retaliation rock/roadblock figure for a custom modern ARAH roadblock http://www.hisstank.com/forum/member...-1626/a-60717/ (see link for example). I remember almost everyone some how made the ankles articulate when the original body has no movement on the feet at all. I made this custom myself years ago and I recently decided that I want the ankle articulation now too. can any one explain how they did this??? thanks!

http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ted-knees.html Adding ankle articulation requires a set of donor feet that you think will look nice on the legs, a sharp knife (Xacto), and a drill bit about the size of the ankle holes that the donor feet came from (better to have the drill bit a little too small rather than too large). You just cut off the existing feet straight across right about where the top of the foot curves into the ankle of the boot, then you carve a concave recess into the leg stump, then you drill a hole (about 1/4" deep) right in the center of the leg stump going straight up the center/inside of the leg. Dip the leg in nearly boiling water for about 20 seconds, then pull it out and shove the donor foot's ankle post into the hole. Repeat on the other leg and call it a day.

Just to add to that, after drilling the hole that will fit the donor feet, drill the edge of it with a larger drill bit to counter sink it so the top of the foot/ankle will sit inside the leg a little so it's more smooth for the transition.
Here's pics of my Slaughter custom that I did this on. The POC/30th IG feet work well.

Wouldn't it be easier to just swap the legs entirely and only paint the waist?

Your painting is good. Just paint a pair of 50th Gung-Ho legs.

well the problem with that is he needs to be tall AND I want him to be wearing combat boots. Most of the newer sculpts that are taller (50th leatherneck, heavy duty, etc..) don't have combat boots.
