One of my biggest pet peeves is no-neck figures. Some figures just seem like their neck is too short and it makes them look funny. Has anyone ever tried heating up the neck of a figure, like with a heat gun, and then stretching it out a bit?
Im not a customizer, so I have no idea if this is even possible with the type of plastic used. thoughts? thanks! |

I add green stuff to the head socket so it sits higher.

I use plastic pellets that soften in hot water. I've extended necks and filled heads both. I like the pellets because they are very hard plastic when cool, but dump them in hot water again and you can remold

I am also curious about this topic, because I was thinking about easy ways to correct Recondos (PoC, v7) neck. I always wanted that figure, but I never bought one, because of the awkward position. On the other hand, I cannot imagine the plastic being this formable, even after heating it up. Guess it tends to mimic it's original shape again?

Yes, the harder plastic is to hard to remold, that is if you even get it hot enough to. I would like to hear more about these pellets Shepard man talks about.

I like to use hot glue to fill the neck holes. It's secure, yet removable, and won't damage the figure.

Order off of Amazon for about $20 with shipping. I got this bag a couple of years ago and still have 90%. There are tons of uses for it.

The best route, as mentioned, is to elevate the head rather than stretching the neck. The way to do that is by popping off the head and stuffing the hole with something which will make it rest higher on the neck socket.
All the other techniques mentioned will work fine. If you just display your figures, the easiest thing I've discovered is using a little ball of sticky tack* (aka removable mounting putty) https://www.target.com/p/scotch-remo...B&gclsrc=aw.ds It requires no heating or cooling,it won't damage the figure and holds the head in any position. (For display only) *it's the stuff teachers use to hold poster on the walls at school* |
