Just looking to see what legs, from any joes or other easily obtainable figures, others would recommend to use as a set of denim jeans. Also, any tips on how to paint them to resemble a faded blue?

The Mutt Williams figure from the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull line is wearing jeans. He should be pretty easy and cheap to get a hold of. Also, the Modern Luke Cage/Absorbing Man/Drax mold from the Marvel Universe line has pants that could pass for jeans.

The Renegades Cobra Trooper has legs that look like lighter denim. You need to paint the cuffs, and cut off the tabs that hold the knee pads on, but they are real easy to use for jeans. I'm sorry, but I can't remember the paint off the top of my head I used to match the pelvis with the legs, but I'll LYK tonight when I can look. I can't pull up photobucket right now, but I'll post some pics later.
