I have a quick question that I hope someone can help me with. I had a customer contact me and ask if I might be able to convert some Palisades mini-busts into statues.
Can anyone tell me if the mini-busts are 1/6 scale? In other words can I attach some 12" figure parts to them and they would look right? Or are they bigger/smaller than the 12" scale? Thanks in advance!

I don't think it'll work, busts are more in scale with Sigma 6...

So do you think if I combine the minibust with a pair of Sigma legs it would look OK?

No, they won't. You're probably better off trying to combine them with some Bowen Punisher type statues, or trying 12" figures.
I'm interested in seeing what you come up with when you are done.

Well, now I'm confused.... TTT says Sigma 6 size, you're saying 12" size... I don't have the bust in front of me so I can't tell for myself but I don't want to accept a commission if I don't think I can do the project... but without knowing what exactly I need to do makes it hard...

They are a bit bigger than 12" scale I believe...I'd have to double check. They are atleast that big. Torso up is atleast 5-6".

I used to have the CC Statue and he was 12" tall, standing on a platform, but he looked fine with my 12" figs...
YOJOE.COM | Cobra Commander Resin Statue I'm pretty sure he was to scale with the busts and all... The only problem is most of the busts had missing arms here and there.. which is why I never got any.. so that might be a challenge by it's self if they want you to add a bottom.. and arms, lol found some reviews... http://www.toymania.com/columns/rtmi...adowbust.shtml http://www.toymania.com/columns/rtmisc/paldestro.shtml http://www.toymania.com/columns/rtmi...baroness.shtml http://www.toymania.com/columns/rtmi...oadblock.shtml http://www.toymania.com/columns/rtmi...eyesbust.shtml Last edited by Joerhyno; 06-15-2009 at 11:51 AM.. |

The one he's asking me to work on is the Destro, which is good because he has both arms already... but I just need to figure out which type of legs he'll need to have added. I was planning on using an existing pair of legs - 12", Sigma, whatever - and then modifying them to be more Destro-like...
But until I can get a definite answer as to size/scale, I won't really know if I can take this project on. I looked through the reviews you posted and didn't see anything about the size/scale of the busts...

I'm not sure I really understand the problem. Put a 12" Joe head/arm in the position of the Destro head/arm and compare.
Problem solved?

Yeah... if I had the bust in front of me.
If I had one I wouldn't have had to ask all these questions. The buyer is asking me to do it, if he sends me the bust. I don't want to have him send it to me and then tell him I can't do it, or quote him a price for a simple leg swap and then find out I have to fabricate something from scratch.
