Hi guys, for a project I have in mind I bought some awe striker wheels. I'm guessing these are from the Arah version. Now I thought the tires would be made of rubber given the cobra ATV from the same era uses hard wheels and soft plastic tires combo. However these are hard solid plastic and although the wheels are a different piece I don't see how to remove the tires so that I can repaint the wheels. So two main questions:
1. The modern era AWE's 2011 and forward also use the same wheels or are they made of rubber? 2. How to remove the tires from the wheels? Any tricks? Thanks

I have an original Awe Striker and the 2012 Ninja Commando variation of it. The wheels appear to be the same setup, but the new one uses the same colors for both (black). It looks like they did the same thing as the original Vamp/Stingers, where they super glued the wheel/hub to the tire. They are a HUGE pain to get off... I had to replace a Stinger wheel once. Strategic use of heat and a tiny flat head screwdriver is how I did that.

Thanks. This setup really sucks. I guess I will really have to try and remove the tire. I cannot paint it like this.

Why not mask the tyre with masking tape or fluid whilst you paint the hubs?

That's another option, but masking circular things is a pain the ass. I don't have such fluid either.
Meanwhile tried to take the tires out well lets just say it is nearly impossible. These tires are basically two pieces which are glued together all around the rim. I didn't know this I tried push the rim from one side and the tire in the opsite direction. I only found out when something broke in the rim and it came out about half. I could then see the inside and understand the concept. What a complex thing hasbro did. Wouldn't it be easier to just make a rubber tire. Anyway needless to say its almost impossible to break apart the tire because they are so close together. I thought that was a single piece. This well is pretty much useless now, well maybe if I glue it the way I thought it was glued. Either that or find different wheels.
