When I first started doing customs I did so for the reason of just making new characters some are pretty cool...some awful.
I eventually moved on to making customs that would fill gaps in my modern collection for figures I did not have for the following reasons... 1) There was no modern version Pure and simple reason. 2) There was no AFFORDABLE modern version Some figures are out there in pricing...such as Lightning and Trigger. 3) There likely never will be a modern version There probably is never going to be modern official versions of Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter or Canary Ann But in doing my customs I have started to come up with an odd problem. Some of those gaps...are starting to be filled in official capacities either thru Hasbro or The Club. Great examples I made customs of...Ambush, Quarrel, Darklon, Heli-Viper, Psyche Out and Jammer. We now have or will soon have a pretty decent modern version of those characters. Which leaves me with the odd situation, do I recycle those customs and re-purpose them for new customs or do I leave them intact? What would you do? |

I think perhaps if you post a gallery of said customs, it might be easier to give an informed opinion. (I'm sure you have pics of them around the forum, but I'm not going to go track them down.)
And even then, there could still be value in having a custom that varies from the "official" figure, same as there could be value in having more than one official version of a figure (say, variations in paint job or uniform design).

You could try selling them, particularly BEFORE the club versions hit the market.

If I'm really happy with my custom, I'll leave it on my shelf and keep the "official" one carded or packaged. Otherwise I recycle what I can.

All mine are in a bottom drawer.
I've been wondering about what to do with them myself. Maybe sell them all in one lot on eBay. |

Those are all great and are very easily recycled. But I think you could post them up on ebay and get some extra coin for your pocket.
