My main disappointment with the upcoming 1988 style Storm Shadow is that they didn't bother giving him the proper belt, like they did on the prototype. Compare the concept case images to the final product...they just used that same old lazy ninja sash they've been using.
Anyone have any ideas of an existing belt that could possibly work here? I know it won't be exact, but with a little white paint, might be better than what we're getting? |

Yeah, I know what you mean. That really blows. I'm thinking I might just use the all white belt sash from the Dollar General SS, with the brown rope bandoleer I got from somewhere and call it a day. Still, very happy this is making a release for the 50th line.

I saw some suggestions in another thread...
A Jango Fett belt from Star Wars? Probably would be too big though. Cutting off the pouches from the POC Alley Viper's vest? That's a great idea actually, but wouldn't work for me cause I don't have that piece. But painted and glued into place, that would probably look good. |

I hope Hasbro makes Ninja Viper repaints out of this figure.

Was the belt they used newly tooled? I've been searching through Yo Joe and had no luck finding any figures with that type of belt.

I'm planning on using a white Stormtrooper belt. I have one from a set of figures I got at Disneyland that I know fits that body quite well. Ain't perfect, but it's a solid no-paint solution.

Definitely has to be, but I think Retaliation CC is close (wave 1 not ultimate).

I am thinking the belt from the defense of cobra island Dr Mindbender, bottom half would work.

Oh also maybe try using Cobra Commander 49's belt with the chest bandolier part cut off. It has many consecutive pockets like SS88 needs and is also a part from a GIJOE toy and not an outside brand like Jango if you're picky. I'll use both of these belts for the 10 or so SS88 that I'll be buying.
I assume that this upcoming SS88 will have his Arashikage tattoo but all the pics of the final packaged product and product pics won't show the outside right arm. I'd really like some confirmation about the hexagram tattoo, anyone know anything?
