I found the most wonderful looking 1 /16 scale Mac trucks tonight at the drug store.
They are from a line called BIG FARM. They are 1 / 16th scale but appear that they would work well in a g.i joe diorama. They have cement mixers, gravel trucks, grain trucks, garbage trucks, flat beds with bull dozers on em....EVEN A 26" long crane truck!!! My question: Has anybody out there ever found or know were to get a 1/18th scale oil tanker truck and trailer ? ( color does not matter, but i wouldn't want it to look cheap ) Any help much appreciated. C.D

Bruder makes a 1/16 scale line of trucks and farm vehicles, no oil tankers, but they do make big Riggs and trailers, you could build your own oil drum from scratch, then using the trailer parts make a tanker, tons of stuff on ebay but it's a PRICEY line of toys.

1:16 semi truck | eBay
For the semis with trailers. Looks like a company called Ertl made a lot of these. Maybe buy a cheap one and see how you like it? They also made an oil tanker, but there's not as many of them. |

At least at that price it comes nice enough that it would not need paint. 400$ in, looking fabulous and its still not 1/18th. When will one of my custom projects ever be easy ? LOL

huh. Didn't know about the Nylint trucks. I have a vintagish nylint blazer/bronco something that I am working on. It was beat to chit and rusty but I got it for a dollar and the scale is awesome for figures. Sometimes, like with the maisto and other models, 1:18 doesn't work real well but the Nylint is spot on. I am a fan of the Bruder line, yes 1:16 but figures fit well, the detail is great, and the detail seems to extend to the interior well where as with some, the detail is superficial.
