I plan on diving into making a custom for my first time in the next couple of weeks. Since the custom plan is for a vehicle I wanted to make an interesting back drop to use as my WIP and hopefully finished project.
To sum up what I did.. Searched google for papercraft garage, came across a 1:24 scale garage interior I liked downloaded the images. Opened them in Photoshop and scaled them up to be roughly 1:18 then used photoshop to put some logos and numbers on stuff. Saved the files as PDFs and took them to my nearest UPS store. I have a printer at home but the quality isn't the best so I spent 39 cents a page to have them print it for me. Brought them home and trimmed off the white edges. I had some left over foam board from one of my kids school projects and glue sticks, so I adhered the paper to the foam board... I have about $5 in supplies and have only spent about 15 minutes on the project so far. I have floor panels and stuff for it as well just haven't glued them to foam board yet, have to pick up some more foam board. I plan to use the scrap foam board I have to make some support beams and paint them red and some of those yellow guards near the doors and office I have planned. I will be leaving town tomorrow til Sunday night but should be back to putting this together and have more to share with you Monday or Tuesday. Also, hope I find my camera... sorry for the crappy iPhone pics. I will be glad to share my PDF files with anyone wanting to use them, I will put together a page to download them from and make some GI Joe versions of the files as well next week. |

Looks good. You should check out JoeDios if you have not yet. They do file hosting of this sort of thing. They have a lot of printable diorama stuff.
