Doesn't matter what glue you use.
There should be a little rubbery disk that slips onto the tip of the post in the chest. Also, I got the hang of this now, I use the edge of a chair and smack it with the hammer. The thing is, you're not supposed to hit the arm (and warp it), you have to hit right where the shoulder and the torso meet. It takes aim, so just keep practicing! |

The Exacto blade method...I remember that...5 stitches and permanently numb portion on my thumb...I'll try the table vice method. Has anyone every tried it on the RoC Paris pursuit snake eyes or the 25th Outback?

I cracked apart a Wild Bill (the same one in the pictures of this tutorial as a matter of fact) tonight and, without gluing him back together, I am finding that it seems he is a lot more wonkier/wobblier than before I cracked him. Is it possible I'm missing a piece that fell out that should be "restraining" the post inside the chest more?
Also, no one has really answered what types of glue(s) they're using when re-connecting these figs. Thanks, guys. About the glue, I've seen other better suggestions here, but since I can't find them in my local hardware store (in Macau), I just use plain super glue (Aron Alpha is my brand of choice). I know that this glue is a bit brittle when it dries. But, well, if the torso cracks open while I'm playing with it, I just take it as a sign that it's time to customize again...!

A hint, after cracking the torso (whatever method you use) piece it back together without gluing it to see if any parts warped.
I just painted an entire ROC Lady Jaye custom and noticed the chest piece had warped....grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. All that work for a subpar custom....sniff.
