Can the 25th Bat torso and pelvis be split apart? I have an idea for a custom.
EDIT: Nevermind, they CAN be split apart.

What about figures that have coats on like the doc from roc, poc cobra commander, etc that you cant off without popping the torso?
I dont have a vice and tried using the exacto blade on three figures. The blade cuts the crap out of them so I tried using the sock method and a hammer. After three wacks it worked. Ta da.

EDIT: Just realized I spent a bunch of time describing very common side effects of torso splitting. I'm removing it all since the pictures below are pretty self-explanatory. It's 25th Quick-Kick. As a side note, the backpack hole does have a peg that extends into the front torso, but after splitting two similar torsos, in neither case did the backpack hole suffer any damage.
You can see the discoloration a bit in this picture: Last edited by MagicWazard; 10-02-2017 at 07:10 PM.. |

Has anyone ever split a pelvis? If so, how did you do it? How didn't get it back together again. Sorry if it's already listed, but the last time I scoured this thread, I didn't see anything about splitting a pelvis.

I split an Absorbing Man pelvis once to try to fix the ab crunch (it was loose). It went surprisingly without problems. I recollect just pulling the legs off at the hip and putting the pelvis into the vice the same way I'd put in the upper torso. Slight discoloration afterwards, but after reassembling it all, the ab crunch joint actually was tighter than before, even though I didn't have to put any glue or anything into it. (Note that I had cracked and removed the torso itself before this, since I didn't know the loose joint was in the pelvis and not the torso.)

Same as Wazard said (except I escaped discoloration). I have done it twice so far but only after having removed the torso first. I wrap the to-be-cracked part in a shop rag or washcloth to prevent marring the surface, then slowly bench vise it until I feel it give or hear a noise.
So far, so good. For what it's worth, I put the top (not the hips, but the belly) into the jaws of the vice. I have to crack the hips/crotch by prying with a small screwdriver once the top is cracked.

FYI, I just cracked open two lower torsos without doing the upper torsos first. It can be done...
I just turn the upper torso 90 degrees (so that the lower torso is side-to-side wider than anything else) and then crack the lower torso as usual.

I’m trying to customize a Rise of Cobra Cover Girl and I cannot split her torso and get the arms out. I boiled and tried using a vise and a screw driver/xacto and nothing. Any ideas?
