I use the work knife to spilt all torsos. Ive had mixed results with the vice method. I wouldnt start out with those either get some practice on some fodder figures first and make sure you have a fresh blade to start with on all torso pops. I get 1-3 uses out of one edge before I flip it around and use the other end. The blades are still good for other stuff later on but I wont risk messing up details by using a dull blade.

I didn't see it in this thread but has anyone ever used a solvent to dissolve the glue on the figures? I don't know if it would warp the plastic but was curious if anyone had tried it before.

The only really safe paint-stripper I've found is denatured alcohol, and that takes a hell of a lot of elbow grease and patience. Some people swear by thinner and nail polish remover, but it always affects the plastic for me. |

I haven't found anything strong enough to dissolve the glue without dissolving the plastic, unfortunately.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what method would work best for splitting Lanard Wow girls? They have screws on their backs but seem to be glued. They have one piece construction torsos and crotch section's. If anyone is familiar with these action figures and how to swap their parts please let me know. Thanks!

Well I tried this on 25th Ship Wreck frm the comic pack and 25th Roudblock from the DVD set and it worked... I just used vice grip pliers instead of the VICE its self and it worked like a charm...I did use an exacto at the bottom of the armpit area to give the breaking point a weak spot... not sure if it actually helped but i will do this to see if it helps.

Trying to figure out how to take PoC's Duke's arms out with this method and it is only just crushing the figure inward. Is there a way to split his torso without having to ruin the collar?
