So, I've been looking for places online to make custom packaging and cards for some of my custom Joes. Does anyone know of a good site for these materials? Thanks.

I don't know of any, but every now and then I see custom packaging (usually "sealed" with contents, both custom and non-custom) on eBay. You might want to contact the seller(s) to find out if they did it themselves, or if they commissioned someone else to do the packaging.
On that note, nearly anyone with at least semi-competent Photoshop (or Illustrator) skills can create his/her own custom packaging. The artwork can be created in either program, then printed onto label sheets that can be applied to blank/dummy packaging (cut to size [and folded if necessary using a scoring tool and a straightedge] from single-ply cardboard or, if you're the FSS club, cardstock for teh lolz). The clear blister part, I don't know if that's clear acetate or some other plastic, but if you used a template shape (perhaps as simple as a wooden die, or block cut out from the center of a bigger block), you could re-create a blister by heating it up and then, gently stretching the heated sheet plastic over the smaller/"center" block you cut out (so it doesn't buckle/wrinkle during the next part of the step), pressing the outer part of the cut wood block so you get the _┌───┐_ lip/profile/shape. Then use a new X-Acto blade to trim off the excess around the blister lip. As for what glue to adhere the blister to the card art...? Maybe superglue gel, but I'm sure someone on the 'Tank can recommend a better bonding agent for the plastic<>paper connection. |
