Zoomie, just by continuing to move forward on this awe inspiring project provides the rest of us with inspiration and motivation.
We should be thanking you. And I'm with Topside - let's see some "grand scheme of things" pics. |

Zoomie my man this is the type of project people want to do but rarely attempt do to lack of space, money, building knowledge, or a combination of them. This is a project that most people on the forums are gonna be interested in, and to be truthful WHO WOULDN'T WANNA SEE A 16 FOOT USS FLAGG!?
My hat's off to you. In fact when I get my F-14 and F-18 Navy Squadrons finished I wanna take pics of them on your carrier! And I might have a BlackHawk or 2 to add with a Navy Seal Little Bird, and a 1 of a kind E2-C Hawkeye....... hint hint lol As I watch you progress on this project I take notes, draw my own sketches and learn from your mistakes and from you achievements! It's great fun to watch! KEEP IT UP BUDDY! Oh yeah, the guys are right LETS SEE SOME PICS OF THIS THING IN ONE PIECE BRO! |

This project is absolutely amazing. I can't even draw a good stick figure, let alone take on something of this magnitude. Great work, I'll be following...

Just as a little update, I know a lot of you guys want an overall picture, so I'm gonna try to finish up painting some stuff so that I can [hopefully] assemble it with what we have so far. But it does require a decent amount of planning to rearrange a room that is barely adequate to house this beast, so be patient. It might take a few days.

Zoomie...this uses a "pressure brake" method of holding the elevator in position?
to operate you lift up at the rear of the elevator platform (the side opposite the hangar entrance) and guide the elevator up or down? The reason i ask is that a project i am still in the planning stages of (and your project since its inception has further fueled my planning stages rather than scrapping the idea) has a calling for an elevator 3ft deep and 4ft wide and needs to stop on at least 4 different levels. The way you have designed yours keeps the supports on the underside of the lift which is exactly what i need to do with mine...however with the weight it will need to lift i am not sure if foam board will support 15lbs (at one point or spread over the entire surface) anyway that was the question ignore my "typed line of thinking" |
