I used krylon spray paint to make a custom hummer and it didn't come out so good. Should I have used the testors model paint?

It depends what kind of spray paint you used. I've had the same problem before. Krylon makes a special paint specifically for plastic called Fusion (I believe). Otherwise, I use flat paint and occasionally semi-gloss and have been pleased with the results. Never use gloss - it has more difficulty adhering, and takes forever to dry, remaining tacky for days. Model paints specifically for plastic work as well, but to be safe, always test the spray paint first on some kind of garbage plastic to see how it reacts.

Minstrelboy is right. Use Fusion for plastics. Its designed to bond to most plastics.

Oh man, I could be here all day...
You probably fired too much on there and or didnt wash(and dry) it first. Or you are not spraying in ideal conditions.(read the label and follow it exactly) Once cleaned and dry you'll need to do light mist coats that do not cover the area completely, wait 15 min in between coats. Never start(or stop) spraying directly at the target, start spraying off to the side then go horizontally all the way across the target and keep spraying past the target.

I use the Krylon Fusion paint as well. Works great.

It sucks to ruin a 15 dollar toy but I guess you gotta learn somehow and I can save the other parts for customs later.
