I also totally got sucked into that thread. It's a pretty interesting read, and I also would like to see if that kit ever comes to fruition.

I was wondering this a long time ago since I'm a huge Aliens fan, I even bought a bunch of the Hot Toys 1:18 snap kits recently.
The first thing that came to my mind when I read this post was the one that our fellow tanker did some time ago, which was SICK, it even had interior details. I have all the pics in my PC but won't get to upload them until next week. It also seems that this guy is selling his model, which looks pretty neat: KIT ALERT!! 1:20 ALIENS M577 APC from Galactic Resin Models I even found many customs based on the RoC Rhino painted in matte olive green finishes, it will show up on a fast google search: https://www.google.com.ar/search?q=c...kVC4PEw-z_M%3A Anyway, in case you wanna see them, here are two USCM customs I did some time ago, as I said before, I'm a massive Aliens fanboy! http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...rine-duke.html |

It turns out the chassis pan for the 1981 issue Barbie VW Golf Cabriolet is sized perfectly to make a 1/18 APC (19.5" L).
I finally pulled it out of storage and began cutting on it this afternoon. If I do decide to build it I will make another version, maybe earlier, maybe later than the movie machine. Turns out that there are a bunch of different types and sizes of these from the ALIENS universe. It is shame that my delusion also includes building a three foot long dropship to carry it...I imagine doing it all in angles like a stealth fighter to eliminate the need for compound curves, etc... I'm glad my old digital camera didn't make it... |

I would love to see someone build a scaled drop ship I'm currently working on a in-between drop ship that is more towards starship troopers.
