Does anyone have any information on joecustoms.com?
The last two days the site hasn't opened "because the server where the page is located isn't responding". No new images had been added to the gallery for several months now, but about a week ago some were actually greenlit... but then never posted. I'm hoping it's not dead in the water. It's also been plagued w pop up/redirect stuff for about a year. But with its forums shutting down recently, I wouldn't be very surprised if it's just shut down. Moderators, I wasn't sure where to put this, so move to a more appropriate place if needed. Last edited by Clockwise; 03-21-2024 at 03:10 PM.. Reason: spelling |

I had a vehicle custom approved and added sometime in early March 2024.
I've had trouble submitting customs for the last month, I was finally able to submit two last week. My antivirus and Ublock ocassionally trigger when connecting to the site when something tries to redirect me instead of going to Joe Customs, assuming a bad ad is triggering that, Joe customs is the only site that triggers the security and its not every time. I assume they are either having server issues or have decided to go to a lower priced host since shutting the forums down and have run out of bandwidth for the month. Or maybe one of the infected ads got them. Their last facebook update was Feb 28th. I really hope its not s shut down, that site is a valuable archive of customs for the community. I would hope they would sell it or pass the database on to a another community site and not shut it down. |

I wouldn't imagine the place has had enough traffic over the past couple of years to justify the costs of operation- it's a miracle this place does, given the small size of our fandom. I of course hope it's not dead, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it is.

the forums hung on a little bit after they were supposed to shut down. i didnt really put much stake on the website still taking submissions even though pluv said it would.
it didnt make sense that one thing was costing too much money to keep going but the other wasnt. it WOULD be a great loss given the catalog of customs it has, but the wiki being gone for as long as it had been (before i found out it's been gone that long) is just as much of a loss. fortunately, you can view the wiki on internet archive, which may be the case for joecustoms.com if it was able to get an image. |

Reminds me of the loss of everything with He-Man.org. Alot of material was lost even before the website fully shutdown.

Today my browsers started blocking Joe customs because of an expired site certificate. When I accepted the risk to connect it goes to a page with:
SORRY! If you are the owner of this website, please contact your hosting provider: [email protected] The IP address has changed. The IP address for this domain may have changed recently. Check your DNS settings to verify that the domain is set up correctly. It may take 8-24 hours for DNS changes to propagate. It may be possible to restore access to this site by following these instructions for clearing your dns cache. There has been a server misconfiguration. You must verify that your hosting provider has the correct IP address configured for your Apache settings and DNS records. A restart of Apache may be required for new settings to take effect. The site may have moved to a different server. The URL for this domain may have changed or the hosting provider may have moved the account to a different server. |

welp. so much for that. i knew it was coming.
here is snapshots for wayback machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20240000...joecustoms.com im not interested in joining the facebook group. like i've said a hundred times, it turned into a marauder inc fansite. waybackmachine does not have good snapshots of the forum. so essentially joecustoms.com is dead.
