Wow, alot of great ideas and good usage of other playsets.
As far as Playmbil, there are certain sets/vehicles/accessories that I think would work but bear in mind that the playmobil figures are just at 3 inches. If you check out Collectobil.com, there is an entire catalog of EVERYTHING they have ever done. The airport stuff if my favorite--they have the terminal, tower, hangar-like set, accessory vehicles for towing and maintenance. Its all very well detailed. I didnt think to merge the two so much, but I will check it out, the dollhouse that I got for my daughter and the princess castle definately have potential. http://collectobil.com/catalogue/catalogue.html |

There was a Robin Hood Prince of Thieves Sherwood Forrest set that was made in the early 90's. It made a great forest base for the Joes or Cobra. I think it was the same mold as the Ewok village playset that came out in the early 80's.

Once I saw Sherwood at TRU, I wanted one, but missed out. When I saw ROTS and saw Kashyyyk, I made it a mission to get one. Sherwood is based off othe Ewok Village and most parts are compatible. The railings have been re-tooled so they are parmanently stuck into the platform. Also the tops of two of the trees have holes for foliage. Mine is incomplete, so I added a ROTS Obi-Wan antennae to plug the hole. Behind it on the shelf you can see a vintage SW Imperial Attack base. I painted the outside like rock instead of ice. Works for both. That picture also shows a reptile tank rock thing. If anyone local wants it PM me and you can have it at Kozins show. I also have another jungle/den style in storage.

The two Cobras came from a Chap Mei Pirates playset. (Only one Cobra per set though, but you get a Pirate and some accessories) The sets are around $6 and can sometimes still be found in CVS drug stores

These are all excellent ideas. I've got to pull my vintage Star Wars playsets out of storage and snap some pictures too. I have a feeling that the Hoth Imperial Attack Base playset would make an excellent home for my Arctic Extreme Conditions team.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the vintage Star Wars Death Star playset. I know it's not cheap, but it's also not the most expensive as we have seen from posted examples.
And with a little creativity, you could dress it up or down and make something really cool out of it. |

The Ultarama set is cool too. I got mine to make a updated Deathstar, but they have different backgrounds to go with any action figure line you want. Pretty sturdy too. Would post pic's but my set is packed away in another state.
