I can't find any photos online, but there was an interactive toyline called Battlevision. It was released in the mid-1990s by Tiger electronics. Anyway, the core product was this gargantuan base that looked far cooler than any actual GI Joe playset aside from the Flagg (in my opinion). It is perfect for GI Joe.

They remade that exact same playset into COBRA MOUNTAIN in 2003 for the Spytroops Cobra Mountain playset. It was sorta a cool set, except they didn't change the mold and it still had broken battle droids which made no sense in the joeverse. But hey, they added alot, and I freakin' love that set.. Is one of my crowning jewels, took forever to find, and it is sick. It's now my BAT laboratory and testing facility for Mindbender to do his sick sh#t.

we just celebrated one of my nephews' first birthday and his mom got him a pirate ship water play table thing. i put it together yesterday. it's freaking awesome. fisher price, i think. it could easily work as a fortress for just about any toy line, and you could totally add more features to it. since it's going to be living here at the house, i might have to use it on my days off

I really dig this topic because it reminds me of when I was a kid and we didn't have a lot of money to buy many of the bigger vehicles/playsets so I had to really improvise and harness my creativity to come up with alternatives, whether that be cardboard creations, or coffee-table imaginary bases, or items from other toylines. Part of me wishes I would have had the HQ, the Flagg, and the Terrordrome as a kid.....but then again, I had so much fun being creative and making due with what little I had. I mean it really challenged my imagination and at the same time I think it added an element of enjoyment that's really difficult to explain, mostly because I'm tired and I'm really not very smart or literate enough to convey my feelings in text.
