All right, finally found some time to take some pictures and do a small review of this awesome Baxter Building playset! This is both my first review and one of the first times I ever upload pictures, but here goes:
- Right out of the box, I got the impression that it's a really well thought out, well designed playset. It requires a LOT of building work, more than any other playset or GI Joe vehicle I've known since the 90's, but it was really fun to build the set together with my eldest daughter. She also had a lot of fun with the Marvel figures that come with the set, which are also remarkably well designed in my opinion. - The set is somewhat more in scale to the vintage ARAH figures than the newer 4" ME figs, but not noticeably so. It would work great as a backdrop for any generation of GI Joe figures. - The front has some really cool playfeatures, like a removable sewer cover, a breakaway piece of wall, etc. These are playfeatures that I would have loved as a kid, and they are integrated into the design in a way that they don't really stand out or detract. - The inside of the playset features 3 levels (including the roof). At the groundfloor, there's obviously the grand entrance doors, with directly above them 2 cool and rotating + swiveling security cameras. Right next to it is a cell room, which has a breakaway wall and moveable cell bars. - The second floor features a whole lot of monitors, computers and the like, which are all removable by the way. The second floor also features an upper catwalk with removable railings and a ladder to the roof. The ladder has a playfeature that if a button is pushed, a small peg releases the ladder and it rotates downward. Two of the large windows of the second floor can also open outward and inward respectively. The roof's "glass ceiling" (don't know the proper term in English, sorry) can also open. - On the roof there's a crane with a winch and rope, that can be used to lower a small cage to the side of the building. - The set features one last cool playfeature: it has a large machine with four bendable blue wires that have small led-lights at the end. You can connect these to various monitors, computers lights etc. around the playset, which will then of course be illuminated. - The set displays well with other city style diorama pieces that I have, like the old Ghostbusters Firehouse, the Police Academy HQ, Batman Wayne Manor, etcetera. Enjoy the pictures I took of the playset alongside these other diorama pieces. My current diorama setup is a bit cramped as I ran out of space in my Joe-room a long time ago, but still haven't given up on trying to display everything :-) ! In all, this playset is very well worth picking up, if you can find one. They are a very rare find in mint condition (or at all for that matter). I had been looking on and off for one for the last couple of years and only recently came about a MISB set (that I promptly opened when I got it - what can I say, I'm an opener, not a MOC collector :-)). Anyways, enjoy the pics, and if you guys so desire, I can always take more pics! |

Here are some more pictures, including some pictures of the Batman "Gotham City Bank" playset that I use as a background piece for my city diorama. It's an excellent piece that fits well with both ARAH and ME style figures, as shown in the pictures.

Thanks guys! My plan is to move all of my GI Joe stuff to a new room in our barn that's being renovated right now. In a couple of months I'm going to have a metric ton more room to display all of my stuff, and properly set up an urban diorama (I am blessed with a wife that's very tolerant of my hobby :-)). I've been waiting years and years to have a "man cave" like that!

Not sure if I'm posting this in the correct thread, I didn't see a similar vehicles thread (if so mods please feel free to move this).
I hadn't been paying much attention to the new 3 3/4 Aliens line- until now. I think this would work well with Renegades figures. I am more lenient with Cobra than Joes when it comes to sci-fi and we all need a good Cobra Troop/Viper/BAT carrier to boot Hiya Aliens 3.75-Inch Sale M577 Armored Personnel Carrier Prototype - The Toyark - News
