Shared this in what I consider to be this thread's sister thread: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...nt-scales.html
Someone on Facebook made me realize I should have done so here, instead, and so I will. I bought a baggie full of what looked like castle parts in the thrift shop today for $5. Couldn't tell in the store what it even was. Having put it together as much as I can (it's missing a few parts) and studied the copyright info and conducted some hasty research, it appears to be the Helm's Deep Lord of the Rings castle. And it's Joe scale! It's probably already been listed and maybe even shown off in this thread, in which case I apologize. I had no idea what I was buying, but man, it's cool! That said, I'm not feeling the 1:18th scale lately, and I've gotten rid of all but 50 or so of my Joe figures, and the kitbash pictured above is just about the only one that fits in somewhat with a castle theme, so while I might sell or trade it if someone's interested in an incomplete castle, I'm thinking of using pieces for my bigass custom TMNT sewer I'm hoping to put together. The ladder and the concrete-looking ramp way would make obvious nice additions, but even the walls of the castle could be sewer walkways: But obviously Joes are best suited for it. |

Thanks. Funny thing is that the local thrift store almost never yields me anything useful, and yet since I decided to create a TMNT sewer I've found more cool pieces than I can possibly use.

Does anyone have or know anything about the Walmart Kid connection Military playset that includes the mountain base? It doesnt look like theres much play or display value in the interior of it......if there is an interior....hard to tell in the box. I know the top of the mountain opens up to reveal a dual missle launch and it looks like it could be good for display from an exterior standpoint. Plus its only 20.00. Ive got some rough ideas for it, nut would like to know if there is some kind of interior for it before i bite on it. My kids have some of the military Kid Connection stuff that they mix with their Joes and really have fun with the vehicles so im familiar with the quality of those products and know what to expect as far as thats concerned.

Anyone looking to pick Playmobil Sets, the Dragons line is marked down 25% off at the Times Square TRU. As I posted previously the Great Dragon Castle makes for a fantastic Arashikage Temple.

Spotted a Playmobil Police Station carry along that would work great as a mini base.
